new cook books make me happy

Standard

I’ve had a $25 gift-card to Anthropologie for over two years, given to me as a gift.  I’m a super frugal gal, and will very rarely pay more than $10 on a pair of jeans, much less pay the kinds of prices they sell their clothes for.  I’ve been monitoring their sale items for a while, looking for an excuse to use this card that I’ve been carrying around for too long.

Finally last week, after searching through their site again, I came across a series of cookbooks that looked pretty appealing. I settled on the one that looked to have the easiest recipes and ingredients I’ve actually heard of: Home at 7, Dinner at 8 by Sophie Wright. It came in the mail yesterday and I’m pretty excited to read through the recipes and look at all the pretty pictures.  I’m easily entertained these days.

These aren’t from the new cookbook, but I’ve already planned the meals we’ll be having this week so look out for future blog posts:

  • Tortellini with Peas and Spinach
  • Mexican Chicken over Rice with Avocado Salad
  • Greek Style Quesadillas with Sweet Potato Fries
  • Potato-Corn Chowder with Cornbread
  • Vegetable Rice Soup
